Sydney Sweeney has yet another movie in theaters following her critically acclaimed turn in Christy.

The Emmy nominee, 28, stars in The Housemaid and recently opened up about her love for the story — which stems from a best-selling novel.

"I was such a huge fan of the books," Sweeney told People an interview article published Saturday, Dec. 20. "So I would be just as happy as everyone else being able to see more Housemaids come to life and getting to explore more of Millie."

It's clear then, that The White Lotus star "would love to" return for a sequel to The Housemaid, which is now playing in theaters and also stars Amanda Seyfried. Author Freida McFadden has already written two follow-up books to her original novel: The Housemaid's Secret (2023) and The Housemaid Is Watching (2024).

Earlier this month, the celebrated writer, 45, told People that she'd "love" to see the other entries make it to the big screen: "That would be a dream. I know [director] Paul Feig would do an amazing job in the sequel. He’s incredible."

The psychological thriller follows the life of Millie (Sweeney), who tries to leave her troubled past behind by taking a live-in housemaid job for the wealthy Winchester couple, Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Brandon Sklenar). At first, the job feels almost too good to be true: a stunning home, generous pay and a chance to disappear from her past. But she quickly discovers that the seemingly perfect home hides dark secrets, seduction and scandal.

Sweeney took to social media this week to tease exclusive photos from set, in honor of the Lionsgate film's official theatrical release. Her Instagram carousel post on Friday showcases blood-splattered selfies from set, Polaroids of Sweeney and Seyfried, group photos with the renowned cast and more.
