Amanda Bynes says she’s lost nearly 30 pounds after using Ozempic.

The former actress, 39, shared a photo of herself via Instagram Stories on Monday, December 22, writing, “I usually don’t like paparazzi pictures bc I was 180lbs but now I’ve lost 28lbs on ozempic! I’m down to 152lbs. I know I still look big but this photo is really inspiring to me!”

The snapshot showed Bynes wearing ripped jeans and a Lady Gaga T-shirt while walking on a sidewalk. She carried a ladylike blue handbag, but otherwise kept it California casual.

Back in September, the Nickelodeon alum publicly debuted a new two-toned, platinum-and-black hair color in Los Angeles that harkened back to the early 2000s.

And in August, she showed off a fuller pout via Instagram, captioning her post, “Lip injections by @body.byem <3.”

Earlier this year, Bynes also announced via her Instagram page that she was launching an OnlyFans account. “Disclaimer: I’m doing OnlyFans to chat with my fans through dm’s,” she stated in April. “I won’t be posting any sleazy content.”

Bynes rose to fame as a child star with roles on Nickelodeon’s All That and The Amanda Show. As a teen, she headlined The WB sitcom What I Like About You and also starred in the films Big Fat Liar, She’s the Man and Hairspray during the Aughts. She retired from acting after making her final film, 2010’s Easy A.

In 2019, Bynes graduated from California’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising with a fashion degree. She was profiled by Paper magazine around that time and spoke candidly about the pressures of early fame.

“I literally couldn’t stand my appearance in [Easy A] and I didn’t like my performance,” she told the outlet in 2018. “I was absolutely convinced I needed to stop acting after seeing it.”

She added, “I was high on marijuana when I saw that but for some reason it really started to affect me. I don't know if it was a drug-induced psychosis or what, but it affected my brain in a different way than it affects other people. It absolutely changed my perception of things.”

Bynes’ issues with substance abuse and mental health have made headlines since 2012 after a series of arrests that led to her being hospitalized on a 5150 psychiatric hold. She spent five months in rehab in 2013.

She started treatment again five years later. Bynes’ lawyer, David Esquibias, confirmed to Us Weekly in 2020 that the actress was seeking professional care for her “ongoing mental health issues.”

Bynes previously told Paper, “It definitely isn't fun when people diagnose you with what they think you are. That was always really bothersome to me. If you deny anything and tell them what it actually is, they don't believe you. Truly, for me, [my behavior] was drug-induced, and whenever I got off of [drugs], I was always back to normal.”

She her followers via her Instagram Story in March 2024, saying that she was “doing a lot better now” amid a bout of depression. In June of this year, she revealed that she was “going on Ozempic. So excited. I’m 173 now so I hope to get down to like 130, which would be awesome so I look better in paparazzi pictures.”
